It’s here! It’s here! The second to last day of school is finally here!!
I mean the end of school isn’t officially here yet, but with a half day today and a full day tomorrow we can definitely say that summer vacation is upon us!
Did we even have a spring?
Spr-ummer ( spring / summer confusion) in Canada looks a lot like this:
I will tell you this much, we are not complaining. With the temperatures rising we are outside every chance we get, loving every second of the warmth because winter comes quick to these parts.
I have the patio door wide open to invite cool summer morning breezes. I wish that Barry would enjoy the fresh air as much as I do. Listening to the birds chittering their morning songs while I sip my coffee makes me happy. Watching the wrens wrestle amongst the leaves and play peek-a-boo in the blossoms calms my mind and encourages me to just be still.
My garden has quickly become one of my happy places.
Besides digging my feet in the cool wet sand watching the dolphins play in the surf I love to explore nurseries and greenhouses.
We came upon this county nursery a few years back and I had instantly fell in love with its breathtaking flower arrangements and its rows upon rows of brilliantly coloured annuals, soft petaled perennials, creepy crawler plants that hung out of pots that tickled my shoulders as I walked by, the sharp smell of basil and mint and rosemary, tropical plants, prickly plants — I didn’t know the name of ninety percent of the things in there but they were all gorgeous.
Some women drool over shoes and purses.
Me?
My happy is flowers and my garden and I feel so happy there.
What’s your happy? I would love to hear about it in the comments below.
2nd to last day of school! OMG I have been on summer break for 5 weeks now. I am not sure I could teach through June. Exciting times are ahead for you
My happy is spending time with my husband and also working, I work part time at a bridal salon. It makes me so happy to make girls dreams come true!
Nature is my happy, but nature without bugs if that makes sense. It can sometimes be hard to separate the two though!
my happy place is diving into my sketchbook or painting something as it totally relaxes me!
Hmm…my happy is a craft store. I can spend hours in one and I have to control myself from going nuts and buying everything.
I live in Florida. We moved here from Minnesota two years ago. I’m a native Florida resident, so the temps in Minnesota seemed like winter year round! LOL
I love to take pics of flowers too. Allergies get the best of me and I can’t get too close, but I do love to get some good pictures if I can.
My happy place is definitely our garden, and the local beaches in Cape Cod that we visit in mid-July. Summer seems to go by in the blink of an eye sometimes! Ice cream is my happy!
