A little break from our summer activity to bring you Part 5 of our “15 things to do with your kids in the summer series”, that won’t break the bank, and if your are handy they will actually be FREE.
If you are keeping up with our summer you know I am all about keeping the kids from being bored, but also about enhancing their education in the process and bringing them back to nature.
I shudder at the thought of wasting away a beautiful summer day when I know that soon it will be -30C. Let’s not waste it what little time we have in the sunshine.
I can’t stress how important it is to remember the simplicity of childhood is found in the quality of the time spent together- enjoy each moment, create an environment of joy and excitement, learning and fun! I am certain this summer will be one we all remember for a very long time.
Did you try any of the activities from last week?
What was your family favourite?
Join us next Friday for Part 6 of our “15 things to do with your kids in the summer time”. We will be halfway thru the summer… sheesh time sure flies!

I’ve been wanting to make jam forever! You’ve inspired me to get going!
Great ideas. Like the making jam Love cooking with the kiddies.
I love making homemade jam.. then we know what’s in it and we cam mix and match fruit to make it extra unique.
We kind of did a sleep over because we stayed in a hotel over the weekend for our mountain trip. 🙂
Hey that totally counts… not your bed, not your house!!
Where else do you not feel bad eating ice cream in bed?!?
My kids just did #1 on your list over the weekend. Camped indoors! Definitely a fun way to spruce things up!
Ha, my son would love to visit a farm. I feel like summer is slipping by so quickly.
I love that your list is all about free or inexpensive activities. Time spent together is so much more important than spending money to “do something.”
I’m running out of things to do with my little dude! This is a great list! A lego castle would take forever to build. It’s perfect!
Were about to go camping “indoors” for an entire week! i am so excited
It is great to find new things to do with kids each summer. You can never have too many items on the
“To Do With Kids” LIst.”
What a cute graphic and fab ideas – summer is flying by !
Camping indoors sounds fun! We used to clear the living room and set a tent up when I was little.
Perfect list for the summer! I love the easy graphic!
So many great ideas. My kids are constantly bored. Sadly, this summer we are spending it house hunting and packing. But, I love all these ideas and will be doing a few in between our hunting!
These are some really good ideas. I used to do a lot of these with my kids when they were younger.
Actually we totally built a lego castle last night!
We had just gotten back from the beach. We are planning a museum for the next two weeks too.
We did #11 just this weekend! It started with picking and then we had another fun summer project to turn all those berries into jam! We have almost 2 dozen pints of jam!
I feel like I’ve read this list a few times over. However each time I see it .. something new comes up. Great list of activities for the Kids
I’ve loved following your lists and wish I’d had them when my kids were little. It can be very challenging to keep kids entertained during the summer!

A potato sack race sounds fun! I think I am going to do that.
