Part 4: 15 things to do with your kids in the summer time

07/10/15 | 15 things to do with your kids in the summer time, Grow, Play in the sun

part 4 (1)

Ahh, the pressure is finally off and we finally get a chance to relax.
Piano lessons are finished, soccer championship games have been played (They placed Silver) and the monster assignment that had been looming over me for the past month is done and was submitted with only 7 minutes to spare. Yeah, I know. Pushing it a little close eh.
For the next two weeks our calendar is completely empty. No summer camps, no un-necessary
With 8 weeks left of summer fun we have lots of time to pick out some of our favourite activities to do at our leisure and honestly are just getting started.

This summer feels different than previous ones..it sort of feels like our family needed a couple of weeks to unwind and slow down from the busyness of the school year and everything that goes with it. All of your activities are spread out so we have a week here or there where we are on the go followed by a week of nothing and I couldn’t be happier.
This morning It’s a “drink my coffee out on the deck kinda of morning” and I couldn’t be happier!
The birds are singing in the trees, the sky is a beautiful blue and all feels right with the world.
Anyways, Back to you…

Did you try any of the activities from last week?

What was your family favourite?

Join us next Friday for Part 5 of our “15 things to do with your kids in the summer time”.

We’ve been playing tons of frisbee and I had forgotten just how much fun it is. My seven year old is pretty good at it too!

These are all great ideas and I’m considering doing a few with my kids!. We haven’t been to our local library in a while in sometime so we’ll probably head there soon. It’s a great place to go on a rainy summer day or a day when its too hot out.

Wonderful suggestions. My kids are grown and out of the house, but I remember getting stumped to find news ideas for keeping them busy over the summer.

Thanks so much for the fun ideas. I thought I was the only person that allowed ice cream for breakfast now and then, lol.

These are wonderful! We love looking for airplanes. We made pizza last week. I think painting rocks and visiting the library is on the agenda for today.

Homemade pizza is a weekly thing for us, the kids like making their own personal pizzas!

Ah! Good list! My son loves counting cars and planes. Painting rocks could be a lot of fun for a 4 year old. Will have to try it!

Airplanes! Now that is one my kids would love. We were out the other day and near the airport, a bunch of planes flew over my two boys 4 and 6 were going nuts!
