Part 2: 15 things to do with your kids this summer

06/26/15 | 15 things to do with your kids in the summer time, Grow, Play in the sun

101 Summer fun ideas (1) Is it just me, or does everyone feel like this last week just crawled by?  Last week of school and to be honest it has been hard, dang hard.  With late nights and even earlier mornings my coffee just hasn’t been strong enough but just like that the school year is done and we are officially on summer vacation!   The kids can sleep in and I get a break from trying to figure out what we are going to pack in their school lunch.  Plus, we get to try some of the new activities with Part 2 of our ” 15 things to do with your kids in the summer time ” blog series.

Did you try any of the activities from last week?

What was your family favourite?

Join us next Friday for Part 3 of our “15 things to do with your kids in the summer time”.

My boys are both teenagers, and I think I am totally going to throw them off guard by having a water fight.

    These are really great suggestions!

Great list! In this heat, anything to do with water is in my top 5 🙂 Unfortunately, with the drought in CA we can’t do the sprinklers/slip n slide, so we have been hitting up the local splash pads!

It’s really hard to plan activities for the summer here in Arizona, since a lot of these activities involve being outside during the heat of the day. We like to go out early in the morning and late at night just to go outside, but don’t have a whole lot of time to make big plans. Great list–gotta pin this!

I love your list – I especially like that every thing on that list is doable for me with the exception of rollerblading. OK, I know this list is for the kids, but I like to get out and have fine with them as well! I wrote a list on 12 Ways to Prevent Summer Slide at http://positivelystacey.com/2015/06/12-ways-to-prevent-summer-slide/ , but I like that your list is pure fun!. Playing is so important!!

You have to keep the kiddos entertained and engaged. I would probably like the slip n slide best. I used to enjoy those when I was a kid.

So I do not have human kids but you inspired me: The kids up the street were using sidewalk chalk (which has come a long way) and I colored in the hopscotch game with them!

OH my, I haven’t hopscotched in a lot of years. I remember how much fun it was. I wish I had a girl so we could play hopscotch. I don’t think my boy would want to play it…You know it doesn’t include a ball LOL

Since we live in Florida, summer is all about the pool and being in the air conditioning but other times of the year is when we do a lot of outside activities like some of the ones you mentioned. One of my kids favorite things to do was scavenger hunts and flying kites.
