So if you’re looking for ways to make your move go more smoothly, here are some tips to make that move a little easier.
I hope you find them helpful!
If you are going to be moving in the near future, the logistics of doing so may seem overwhelming. In addition to packing, you have to move your cable service, change your address and make sure that the power is on when you arrive. What are some ways that a new or young parent can make moving a little easier for the whole family?
Send the Kids to Grandma’s House
If possible, it may be a good idea to send your children to grandma’s house or to another babysitter for the day. This will allow you to focus on packing and moving your things as opposed to a crying baby or a toddler who may be more of a hindrance than a help. If you have any pets, you may also want to send them elsewhere for the day to reduce their stress level.
Make a Pile of Stuff to Get Rid of
Moving is always easier when you have fewer things to move. If you have a lot of clothes that you don’t wear anymore, you should donate them to charity. If you have furniture that won’t fit in your new home, you can try to sell it online or simply put it out by the curb.
Enlist the Help of a Professional Moving Company
A professional moving company like Excellent Quality Movers, Inc. or a similar service in your area can make it easier to get your stuff from your current place to your new one without damaging anything. They are specifically trained to move large or awkward items in and out of your home or apartment in a timely manner. This can save you time as well as potentially permanent damage to your lower back.
Use an App

Start Planning Your Move well in Advance
Ideally, you will start packing for the move at least a week before your moving date. By the time moving day arrives, everything should be put into boxes that are ready to put in a car or moving truck. It may be a good idea to get help cleaning your apartment or help unpack and organizing your things once you get to your new home or apartment.
Moving day can be among the most stressful of your life. However, preparing for it ahead of time can reduce some or all of that stress. Make sure that the kids are out of the house if possible and try to get as much of the work done prior to moving day. If necessary, professional movers are available to handle the heavy lifting.
These are all great tips! We got rid of so much stuff during our last move and yes we sent the kids to the grandparents too. Made it so much easier to focus on the task at hand.
That’s cool they have an app to help with moving. I need to remember this when it comes time for us to move.
These are all great tips. Moving can be such a challenge, especially with little kids. I can’t imagine not using a professional mover.
I hired movers once a long time ago. It was great! It made life so much easier!
I know moving is a nightmare. I’m hoping to do it one more time and then be done with it. I had never heard of that app though. That sounds really handy
These are great tips. I like the idea of starting ahead of time packing because you are able to get rid of things you no longer need for the new house.
Moving can be such an exciting adventure but it is a bit intimidating. I love your suggestions here. I agree that organization is key and ALWAYS enlist the help of professional movers!
