Disclosure: I received these beautiful jars from a company called Infinity Jars in exchange for a blog post. Although I received these for free I have not received any monetary compensation and all thoughts are my own.
Imagine if there was a jar that had the capability to preserve your food for over 6 months without it going bad so fast. How would you like to keep your expensive herbs and spices fresher longer and preserve your homemade DIY scrubs and creams for a year without adding any preservatives or storing it in the fridge, just to stay fresh? Or how about being able to prolong the shelf-life of your produce like tomatoes, bell peppers, berries, chopped greens, cilantro, and other herbs, fruits, and vegetables?
Sounds too good to be true, right?
Well, that’s why I’m excited to introduce to you such a unique bottle that has the preservation capabilities I mentioned above. This is a total game changer for those looking to keep their foods, lotions and creams, and herbs fresher longer, without any effort!
If you’re someone who would rather not use preservatives, then you’re going to LOVE Infinity Jars!
WHAT’S INFINITY JARS?
That’s what I first said, too. I’d never heard of these people, but their product actually looked really neat. They sell glass jars and bottles that are made from a special pigment. The bottles are dark violet-blue in color, which helps filter out light, air, and scent.
That doesn’t sound like much at first until you look at the science behind it. Both clear and even brown-pigmented jars allow light inside the jar, which makes the contents degrade more quickly. The idea is that the design and color of Infinity Jars keep the contents fresher for much longer.
Each Infinity Jar is made of tinted ultraviolet European glass that almost appears to be black. They come with air-tight seals, are scent-proof and are designed to preserve and rejuvenate freshness for long periods of time. In a comparison test with clear and amber glass bottles, Infinity Jars were the only ones whose organic contents lasted for 6 months or longer.
According to Infinity Jars’ site: Infinity Jars’ special pigmented glass is thicker and more durable than your standard glass; it is smell-proof, blocks harmful UV light and is visually discreet. Furthermore, all of our jar lid systems, the screw top, and glass-on-glass lid, are completely airtight. Your products are totally protected, preserved much like ancient Egyptians – who invented deep violet glass thousands of years ago and preserved precious oils and herbs for centuries in tombs. The integrity of your lotions, essential oils or spices is guaranteed to be protected for over 6 months when you use our products!
Chives stayed green and fresh for 2 months. Cherry tomatoes were kept for 7 months. When they were taken out of their jar, there was no color loss and looked like they’d just been picked off the vine. In clear glass and amber bottles, the chives and tomatoes would have molded within days.
Infinity Jars has a large selection of containers for the kitchen, to store cosmetics and for apothecary needs. They are excellent for preserving cooking oils, cosmetics, DIY lotions and creams, herbs, salts, tea, flour, much more. Some have screw tops, others have fine mist dispensers, droppers, and oil spouts perfect for vinaigrettes. The uses are endless!
I got to pick which jars I wanted to review, which made me more excited about glass jars than I’ve … probably ever been.
I was a little paranoid that I was going to receive a package full of shattered purple glass. To my delight, Infinity Jars packaged everything really well. They double-wrapped everything in bubble wrap and it all arrived safely. My kids were thrilled when they saw all the bubble wrap!
Anyway, I received:
- (1) 1 Liter Glass Screw Top Wide Mouth Jar
- (1) 500 ml Glass Screwtop Wide Mouth Jar
- (1) 250 ml Glass Screw Top Jar
- (1) 750 ml Glass Bottle with Oil Spout
- (1) 30 ml Glass Fine Mist Spray
What I thought:
When I opened my shipment and started to inspect these bottles I was pleasantly shocked at their quality. These bottles are made with European, deep violet glass. The glass is very thick and almost impossible to see through. These bottles are airtight, light-proof and scent proof! Right away I could understand how these bottles could preserve a product. The jars also come with a bottle cleaning cloth and stickers, for easy labeling, so you won’t have to open every screwtop jar to remember what is inside!!
These bottles are more expensive than the typical glass bottles we’re used to. In my opinion, these bottles are well worth it when it comes to creating serums that contain oils that are very sensitive to light as well as toners and lotions. Plus, if you are making products for yourself, I would invest in a pump for facial lotions and body lotions as well as a spray bottle You can safely reuse these bottles. If you are leery of reusing pumps, droppers or sprays, Infinity Jars sales replacement lids individually. I did take a sneak peak at their Variety packs and I have to agree they make a great gift for others or for oneself.

No- fuss access to my favorite oils
If you, like me, cook with Olive Oil all the time you may not be aware that Heat, light, and air are the enemies of olive oil, you should make sure that it stays cool, dark, and free from excess exposure to air. A dark glass container with a tight-fitting lid is what you want for your daily use oils. Now my oil won’t have a chance to oxidize or go rancid.
Perfect!!

Ohhh I bet that linen spray smells just heavenly! I want to spray it on my sheets right now!
These sound like a really great product – especially for those things you love to use but never use up that quickly. Love all the different sizes they come in too. – Katy
Ooh, these look and sound great! I’m always on the lookout for fab storage items, so I’ll definitely be checking these out 🙂

These look really interesting. I can see it being great for things that are not refrigerated. I am still curious about things that need to be kept cool though. Did you try using them for veggies in the fridge? You mentioned no color loss but did the taste remain the same?
I pin so many DIY’s on Pinterest, with all the best intentions on making them. But now that I know my efforts won’t go to waste, I’m even more motivated. Those infinity jars are a great idea.
These would be great for my herbs. I am studying herbalism and right now most of my herbs are in clear jars in a dark closet. I would love to have them be more accessible while still keeping outnthe light.
I haven’t heard of Infinity jars. They look great! I love your ideas and how you put them to use. I would love this for olive oil. Very beautiful photos.
I’m glad you explained it because I was like say what?! I will look into these for my canning process since they preserve your food longer.
I have never heard of infinity jars either! I do like that they are more durable than regular glass jars, I will keep this in mind. Thanks!
I didn’t realize there could be so many creative uses for these jars. I am a little bit of a collector (some would say pack rat.. lol) when it comes to containers. I love pretty containers. Your comparison chart really makes a difference, displaying how not every “pretty” container is necessarily good for what we are storing. Then, when you described the European violet material, it made me want my own 🙂
