Groundhog day activities

It is almost time to see if that crazy groundhog sees his shadow! 

I have gathered up 15  groundhog day activities for kids that y’all will love and have included a tons of free printable’s for the kids to play with as well.  Just check out the super cute finger puppets with the adorable buck teeth!

What is Groundhog’s Day? It’s a traditional holiday celebrated on February 2 where According to folklore, if it is cloudy when a he emerges from its burrow on this day, then spring will come early; if it is sunny, then he will supposedly see its shadow and retreat back into its burrow, and the winter weather will persist for six more weeks. I don’t know about you but I am hoping for an early spring!

    These are all fun activities! As a teacher, I would always celebrate Groundhog day with kiddies in the classroom. Now that I’m a SAHM I must try these with my own kids. Thanks for sharing!

    So fun! I am so glad you posted this with notice, now I won’t forget and can plan some fun! I love the pancakes and cupcakes.
    These holidays are so fun because there is not a need to go out and shop and buy a ton, just have fun!

    These are perfect for homeschool next week! I, for one, am hoping for an early spring…we haven’t had an early spring in several years, and I would really like it if we could have one again!

    Cannot believe Groundhog Day is so close and I love your ideas. I will be taking your ideas to entertain my niece while I babysit. The more to entertain, the easier it is to babysit πŸ™‚

    Those cookies are too cute! I know up north is getting hit with some serious snow, but down here an early spring means an especially brutal summer, so I wouldn’t mind 6 more weeks of crisp temperatures and low a/c bills!
