{DIY} Lavender& Lemon Sugar Scrub

09/07/15 | {DIY} crafts & other fun things

Lavender & lemon sugar Scrub

Have you ever used a sugar scrub made with essentials oils?  I always ask for one either for my birthday or for Christmas because I love the way they make my skin feel after a good scrub but, buying them from the store can be pricy.

With a few kitchen cupboard ingredients, silky soft skin can be all yours.  Make your own luxurious home spa with this DIY Lavender and Lemon Sugar scrub.  This simple homemade scrub is super easy to make and it smells amazing!  What a wonderful way to slough off dry skin to reveal a smoother, silkier body.

Coconut oil acts as an emollient to soften rough skin, while granulated sugar further helps exfoliate, and dried lavender not only smells delightful, it helps calm itchy skin and relaxes you.  This scrub makes an adorable gift friends and family will love so we have included a fun printable tag so you can surprise someone with their own.

Make your own Lavender & Lemon Sugar Scrub

Stir together all ingredients. Ta-da! That’s it.

Make sure to store the sugar scrub in a sealed container to keep will keep in a cool dark place for up to a month .  I suggest scooping out a bit of the scrub before hopping in the shower — getting water in the scrub could cause mold growth and make sure to keep it away from your eyes!

I have used sugar scrub made with essentials oils before & it has always yielded some wonderful results to my skin. Lavender & Lemon could make it the best combo & I would love to give it a try.

I have been making my own sugar scrub too. It is so easy too. The coconut oil is helping control my acne and keeps my feet super soft. I’ll never buy store bought sugar scrub again.

I love homemade scrubs – I always get break outs from ones in the store. I like lavender – very soothing and doesn’t flare my allergies.

I have been looking for the perfect DIY Scrub and I think I’ve found it. These oils complement each other really well. The Lavender is soothing and the Lemon has that nice burst of energy that is needed.
