Delicious meals perfect for the campfire

07/07/17 | live

Whether you’re hiking the trails, car camping in the mountains or exploring your own backyard, finding campfire meals can be fun but also challenging. You don’t have to sacrifice good food in order to enjoy the great outdoors.

No spam here! We rounded up a few of our favourite foil dinners perfect for camping or a quick meal on the BBQ. These campfire recipes are a cinch to make and taste just as delicious as what you’d eat in your own kitchen. Now that’s the kind of campfire food that we can get on board with.

Grab your forks, it’s time to eat.

BBQ Chicken Foil Pack

Delicious and easy to clean up. (You can eat right out of the foil with a fork.)

This Garlic Lovers Salmon is easy to make on the grill or in the oven, it’s cooked with the most heavenly lemon butter garlic sauce, and it’s always a crowd favourite! But considering the bears are also a huge fan of salmon…I am going to make this one at home.

Family Favourites at home or at Camp.

Tin Foil Hobo Dinners

If you haven’t tried a Hobo Dinner before this is a must!  We had this every.single.year at Girl Guide camp and it was my favourite!

Steak & Veggies

Who said you can’t enjoy a great steak with a carrots, zucchini, onion, bell peppers. Delicious!

Beef Stuffed Pepper boats

Stuffed peppers are a great meal-in-one choice for camping. These are filled with Italian-style beef and healthy brown rice, then wrapped in foil to take along on your trip. They made be made ahead up to 3 days in advance, ready to pop in the cooler and head to the campgrounds. These foil packets work just as well on your backyard BBQ as well as in your kitchen oven.

Sausage, Green beans and Potatoes

Sausage and veggies packed in easy foil packets. Perfect for camping or a quick dinner!

Turkey, Sausage and veggies

Chop everything beforehand for a no-fuss, crowd-pleasing dinner.

Sausage & Pierogies

A combination of   Sausage, pierogies, red pepper, onion and snap peas all in one neat little package.  Not a lot of fuss or clean-up.

Lemon Chicken and Potatoes

The most amazingly moist and tender chicken breasts cooked in foil packets – so easy and packed with tons of flavour!

Loaded Nachos

This is a perfect go-to recipe to share with friends or family at a Summer Barbecue! Make these nachos for an easy appetizer recipe or dinner recipe!

These Campfire meals are SO easy to assemble and the results are well worth the little effort of putting them together. Not to mention clean up because that is pretty much nonexistent. I mean, eat it out of foil and then chuck out the foil and…wash your fork?? That is the kind of kitchen clean up I’m all about!

This reminds me of the first time that I had shrimp. I wasn’t very sure about it, but a friend showed me how to make it on the grill, nicely wrapped in aluminum foil. Your post, with all of the beautiful pictures and ideas brought back fond memories 😉
