Chocolate Covered Strawberry S’mores

07/25/17 | live

Nothing says summer like a hot roasted marshmallow right out of the campfire!  {Golden brown…not on fire!}  In fact s’mores are one of my favourite summer treats because they remind me of sunshine, cold drinks from the hose and camping, and because they’re so darn good.

Why do we save this simple, yet utterly divine, treat for camping and beach trips?

I have no idea. And better yet, I think we need to stop the madness.

Yes, it’s fun the roast marshmallows over an open campfire and press them between graham crackers out of doors.

Yet if you are really craving s’mores you can make them right in your oven… In 2 minutes. With less mess. You can make them anytime of year, without frost-bitten toes or mosquito bites. No sticks required!

I’m in heaven!

Now I’m hoping you have had s’mores before but if you haven’t you need your basic ingredients chocolate, marshmallow and graham crackers.
 S’mores

Normally I go for the “original ones” but last night I was feeling a little fancy-schmancy, so we added some sliced strawberries for a new twist on an old family favourite.

These Chocolate Covered Strawberry S’mores are everything you love about chocolate covered strawberries and everything you love about S’mores combined into one ultimate summertime dessert.

Ingredients
  1. 1 honey made graham cracker, broken in half
  2. 1 large jet puff large marshmallow
  3. 1-2 large strawberries, sliced thinly
  4. 2 squares Hershey's milk chocolate
For the oven
  1. Preheat the oven to 350F. Place the s'mores onto the baking sheet.
  2. I stacked chocolate on top of one graham cracker and placed thinly sliced strawberries on top. Then on the other graham cracker I placed the marshmallow.
  3. Place both halves onto a baking sheet
  4. Bake the s'mores for about 5 minutes until the chocolate and marshmallow has melted.
  5. Put both halves together.
  6. Serve warm.
