Before: the Ice Bucket Challenge

08/27/14 | live

I.HATE.COLD.WATER.

Hate it.

I can’t even handle getting my face wet in the shower.

I think inadvertently I have picked up this phobia of drowning in the shower with sticky conditioner in my hair and only one leg shaved.

Now unless I am trying to shave my leg while twisted in the scorpion pose this shouldn’t be a real concern.

At all.

But I still hate cold water.

I’m not a big fan of the swimming pool or water fights largely because of the cold water.
I mean, who is nice enough to make water balloons and fill them to room temperature water?

Yet, I love dipping my feet in the ocean and walking in the rain.

Confused? Yeah, me too.

When the ice bucket challenge started I silently sat on the sidelines and watched as friend after friend got called out on social media.

I couldn’t help but to laughed as they shivered while their loved one poured ice cold water over their heads.

Some swore (you know who you are).

Some lied thru their teeth and said that the cold water was “refreshing” (you know who you are too).

Some outright refused and broke out the cheque book instead.

You know the saying…those who laugh have the last laugh….

Well, Guess who’s next!

I have accepted this challenge and will be posting the After: the Ice Bucket Challenge later on this afternoon.
Plus I am going to be making a donation to ALS Canada as well.
I know it’s for a good cause and if this helps bring awareness and research dollars in the process then let’s get this started!

(I must confess, I was up in the middle of the night worrying about who I was going to nominate)

I won’t be sharing who until after I do the challenge.

Who knows…it might be you!

Make sure to stop by later on so you can have a giggle at my video too!

I have been scared to be nominated too. Its not just the cold water (although that’s a factor) but also I can’t stand being in the spotlight, let alone video tapped on social media. That part upsets me even more. Good for you!

Good for you! I hate cold water. But I think whether you do the challenge or make a donation, it’s a win-win!
